Please Answer This Question Everybody,,all Opinions Wanted, Holden Or Drag Racing Knowledge Is An Advantage?
i have a vs commodore ute, its 2000 model, vs series 3, ss, vt 304 v9 5ltr engine with getrag gearbox (MANUAL), it has lsd, cold air intake, genie extractors, full stainless steal exhaust twin 2 and half 2 cats 2 mufflers into a 3 inch pipe at the end,,it has 20 inch rims, lowered etc,, is a fast car, still want it to be faster but its a , my mate has a vr ute v6 with the buick 3.8ltr v6,,,it has t5 gearbox MANUAL, open centre diff, 2inch exhaust and thats it rolling jacked up on bludy 16’s,,
any we went to drags with the following cars listed above and to my surprise he was beating me,,, i beat his *** round the streets but we went to sticky qtr mile drag strip[ he was running 16’s high 15;s and i was runnin like 0.2 secs behind,,,i thought i should of been getting him buy1 or 2 seconds….just wondering what the issue could be and what cheap mods i could do to unleash the v8 power to beat him,,,ive heard the problem could be 20 inch rims make ur car car go slower and screws up with ur diff gears and gives less accelration …so should i run stockos to beat him??? or change my diff gears from 3.08 to 3.45….what should i do…i dont understand,,we are equal drivers just so u noe…n my cars not ****** either….just takes a while to gain speed…its not a weapon at low revs…

Larger diameter rims will raise your diff ratio. Put the stocko rims back on, and you will eat him alive. V8 Rule. But usually Fords. Ha ha.
