Nitromethane smells like hot chocolate!!! If your around a nitro car, make sure you take a big whiff of the fumes!!!
You should also know that the sportsman catagories are indexed runs and that most of them use throttle stops to control the elapsed time of the run, there feet are not slippping from the gas pedals!!!
Also, if you get a chance don’t miss the superstock class. The cars may be slow but just about everyone will drag the back bumper for about 60 feet or so. Its hands down the best class to watch, but they never show it on tv.

Are you going to be racing? Or are you watching? If you are racing, keep on the throttle all the way down the track. (unless u have a manual transmission. practise speed shifting) And practise bleach burnouts (bleach on your tires, hold the brakes a bit, and hit the throttle. This makes your tires sticky) And practise reaction times. (look up reaction time practise on google)
If you are watching, just know that the faster time wins.
